One of the main functions of the PTO is to organize and carry out fundraisers in order to provide for our schools some of the things we aren’t able to attain through public funds. It is some of these “extra” amenities that help give our children the high quality of education they deserve.
We try to provide a variety of fundraisers and invite all of you to participate in whatever capacity you are able. We hope that, as the year progresses, you will see there is something for everybody.
Although the Fountain Hills PTO encourages parental help as much as possible, we also understand the demands placed on today’s parents.
Listed below are easy and simple ways you can contribute to your child’s school. We hope you will take advantage of these other “fun” fundraisers!

Arizona Tax Credit for School
This program is very simple to sign up for. You, as an Arizona state tax payer, can write a check for up to $400 if married filing jointly to the school and program of his or her choice. You then get up to a $400 tax credit from the state of Arizona. If you don’t owe any taxes, a credit may be carried over for up to five years. This is a dollar for dollar credit…not a deduction…so it results in absolutely no cost to you, the taxpayer.
If you are single, or head of the household, up to $200 can be donated. If married, filing separate returns, $200 can be donated.
This is money you will pay anyway. Now you can choose exactly where it will go. Please complete the Tax Credit form and send it with your check to the district office by December 31st.
The tax credit is available to all individual tax payers in the state of Arizona, regardless of whether or not you have children enrolled in public schools. Contributions from businesses are always welcome and tax deductible under Federal and State law. However, such contributions cannot be used by businesses to obtain a tax credit. The credit may be claimed on personal income tax returns only.

Bashas’ Thanks a Million
Register your Bashas’ Card at the store when you go through the register. Select which school you want to receive the money and they will donate 1% of the total sales linked to each groups ID# up to $2500.00. Donations are distributed September 13th and March 31st each school year.

Register your Safeway Card at eScrip. Adding your debit or credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express) increases your contribution. Escrip will give back a percentage to the school of your choice.

Box Tops for Education
Save Box Tops from General Mills grocery items displaying the Box Tops For Education symbol. Send them to school with your child. McDowell and Four Peaks each have a coordinator. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents. The GM company sends a check to spend any way we’d like.
